All About Florenceville-Bristol
The villages of Florenceville and Bristol were amalgamated in 2008 to form the Town of Florenceville-Bristol. Located in the northwestern part of New Brunswick and within the Saint John River Valley, it is minutes from the Canada/USA border and directly off the Trans-Canada Highway.
Effective January 1st 2023, The Town of Florenceville-Bristol, The Village of Bath, The Village of Centreville and surrounding LSD areas merged to form the District of Carleton North. For more information on the new District of Carleton North, please click here.
The Town of Florence-Bristol is known as the "French Fry Capital of the World" and the region is known as the Potato Belt of New Brunswick.
Being in the Potato Belt, there is a high concentation of farms in the surrounding area, as well as food processing plants, and produce packing facilities. Florenceville-Bristol is home to the corporate headquarters for McCain Foods. They are one of the world's largest manufacturers of frozen French fries and potato specialties.
According to Statistics Canada, the Town of Florenceville-Bristol has a population of 1,573 as of the 2021 census.
