All About Windsor

The city of Windsor is located in southwestern Ontario on the south bank of the Detroit River, directly across from Detroit, Michigan. 

Windsor is the southernmost city in Canada. 


The population of Windsor is 229,660 (2021 census) making it third most  populated city in Southwestern Ontario after London and Kitchener. 


The Detroit-Windsor urban area is North America's most populous trans-border conurbation, and the Ambassador Bridge border crossing is the busiest commercial crossing on the Canada-United States border. 


Windsor is known as the "Automotive Capital of Canada" and is a major contributor to Canada's automotive industry.

Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board

The Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board (WECDSB) is the separate public-school board that oversees Catholic education in Windsor and the surrounding County of Essex. 


The WECDSB uses the boundary system.  The school that your children would attend is based on your address.  You can request to attend another school outside of your boundary, but requests are dependent on the availability of space.  To find your home school, please visit: Which School do I Attend.
