The province of Alberta is located in Western Canada and is one of the three prairie provinces.
Alberta is bordered by British Columbia to the west, Saskatchewan to the east, the Northwest Territories to the north and the US state of Montana to the south. It is one of two landlocked provinces in Canada. The eastern part of Alberta is occupied by the Great Plains, while the western part borders the Rocky Mountains.
Alberta is the 6th largest province by area and the 4th most populous with an estimated population of 4,262,635 people.
Edmonton is the capital of Alberta.
